Why I don't care for advertising

Most advertising seems to be aiming to make you feel bad and inadequate about stupid stuff, so you buy the product in hopes of making yourself acceptable.

There's something a little more deeper that is wrong with a person if they worry about wrinkles.

Unfortunately, advertising works.
Plenty of folks out there willing to feel bad about themselves.
And it puts food on the table of advertising professionals families too.
Wrinkles are the least of my worries these days. I am much more concerned about my complete lack of saddle time!

The purpose of marketing is to create a need where one didn't exist before. On FB, I've started marking "offensive" any ad that tries to make me feel bad about myself. Even though it's just a click, it's feels liberating. I do the same thing with the tv, much to Mark's annoyance.
