FARM CROSS & THE COWBOY CUP 2008

November 15 & 16

11950 S 148th ST, Bennet, NE 68317

Join the Brown's at the Red Roof Farm for some high intensity PCL cross action on our newly created 1 mile course. Guaranteed to get you ready for Lincoln's No Fear SOBE weekend on 11/22-23 and Iowa's Jingle Cross 11/28-29.  PREVIEW THE COURSE October 11 from 10 am till Noon and let us know what you think. Even if you don't wanna race, come watch and bring some cash to enter the calcutta. That's right. Buy a racer. Have them burn out their lungs while you sip a beverage and win some $$$.

SCHEDULE FOR BOTH DAYS

9:00 AM Registration closed for both Joy and Glory segments.

9:30 AM Calcutta* closed.

9:30 AM Onsite parking closes. Arrive after 10:30 and you'll need to park in the pasture.

10:00 AM JOY (First-timers, Kids, Women, Men)

This 35 minute ride-as-long-as-you-can-stand-it race leads to some interesting prizes. Entry fee: $2 + one oddball item to add to the PCL schwag repository. Don't have some oddball item?

11:00 PM GLORY

$22 puts you in the 60 minute race for glory and cash. Your first $2 keeps Farmer Brown's mower running and $20 goes into the jackpot to be paid back to the top 4 finishers: 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%.  So, if 10 folks race for the moola, the payout will be $80, $60, $40 and $20.

012:15 PM AWARDS & PAYOUT

============= Q & A  =============

What's this calcutta thing?

There will be a silent auction whereby ANYONE NOT RACING FOR GLORY, may purchase a Glory Racer. The purchase money is put into a pool and paid back in the same percentages as the Glory Race. So, if the racer you bought gets second place, you'll get 30% of the calcutta pot.

Will there be beverages?

This is a BYOB event on private property. We'll provide the bonfire.

Can I get USA CYCLING upgrade points with this thing?

Hell no. This race is all PCL. You ride at your own peril, subject to all the consequences of your own incompetence, lack of foresight and general stupidity.

How do I register or ask more questions?

Contact Sydney (sydney.e.brown@gmail.com or 402 417 5600) and arrange to pay your fee. You'll be put on a list of registered riders.

This is great. Thanks to you and the Farmer Browns for providing another venue for local cross. Will be riding out Saturday to preview and will bring a friend or two.
