I thought it was a joke, but it's true....

Bicycle Retailer and Industry News: "The fight is against a ban on quick-release axles that has been proposed in the New Jersey legislature."

I want to know who is the idiot behind this fight?
Some congressman that had his kid fall off a bike due to his negligence and a reluctancy to understand basic bike maintenance?
"They can have my quick-release when they pry them out of my cold dead fingers!"

They try this somewhere every few years or so. It never works. If you want to prevent more injuries, outlaw cars.

Knee-jerk legislation at it's finest.

"stupid is as stupid does...."

ya just can't sue or legislate stupidity away and no matter how "safe" you make something, someone will come along and be stupid enough to get hurt.

Madness. Must have been an Attorney's kid that got hurt.

They should ban Wal-Mart.

Legislation should be introduced to ban New Jersey.
