A Seizure?! I'm sure there are other ways to get a hospital tour.

From time to time, I talk about my boys.

Yesterday, Erik had a seizure. Fortunately, his brother

was there. Nick called the EMTs and Erik was rushed to the hospital where he got to try morphine and post to Facebook from his bed.

One way to get a hospital tour

Fortunately, the CAT scans and lab work all were clear and we await EEG testing.

A big thanks to everyone who visited and expressed their support. Stuff like this is a lot less scary when you know you're not in it all by yourself.

Have no idea. He's never had anything like this before. Nor has he had many Dr. visits. Who knows? Maybe bad eating habits + lack of sleep + a predisposition towards 'em. I guess there's just tons of stuff that can trigger it.

You've been trying some different foods lately right? You might have found a food allergy.

I am so sorry to hear about your son's ordeal but very glad to know he is doing well.
And great that your other son was there to help.
I do agree with others that I have read about food allergies and a connection to this type of reaction.

Syd, I wish him the best and hope they get it all figured out and fixed soon.

An epileptic friend of mine gave me a some reading material and it's interesting to see how many things will 'reduce the seizure threshold.'

He's getting EEGs and an MRI today. The results should be available by next week.

Thank you all for your well wishes.

...head injury?

I figured it out... your youngest was playing that 'hit me hard' game with your oldest. They don't want to 'fess up yet.
OH you said they did a cat scan. ok. not the answer. Could an old trauma injury cause that though?

That sounds so scary~ I hope everything goes ok. PFY

Syd, Sorry to hear that. Happened to me once when I was ~16. The docs put me through EKG, EEG, Sleep EEG and a 24 hour EEG (you get to go home with this crazy stuff super glued to your head). They could never find any causes, and they decided not to put me on anything because it was my first one and they didn't find anything and I was young. I've never had another one, so sometimes they can't be explained and are a one-time deal. Hope he's feeling feeling better.
