Well, now that I can run my HRM a little bit, I can do some pretty targeted workouts. For the two weeks before St. Louis, the goal has been to ramp up speed and intensity using specific HR targets. I'm here to tell you that what you've heard is true -- it will make a difference. You might be using your comp or the way your body feels as a guide, but compared to an HRM, it's all guesswork. That being said, I can now appreciate the power taps, but don't expect to see one on my bike anytime $oon.
Anyway, did 4 intervals at VO2 max, which is just under time trial speed, with 2 min. recoveries between and man do I want to crash. So, goodnight.
